He is everything I’ve ever wanted in a man. And I will do anything to get him. Even if I have to lie to him — Ethan

He is a sinful temptation. A guy who loves pushing all my buttons. But I can’t touch him. And I most definitely cannot have him — Joe

Ethan Skye has had only one goal in mind since the first night he walked into Saron, the most exclusive gay club in Tokyo: to win the heart of Joe Cavendish, its brooding owner and the man he’d fallen in love with at first sight. When Ethan takes a job as a bartender at Saron to get closer to Joe, little does he know that his actions will set him in the sights of an obsessive admirer.

Jaded by his troubled past and with his heart very much guarded, Joe Cavendish has one strict rule in life: never mix business with pleasure. Unfortunately for Joe, one cocky, sexy bartender seems intent on testing that resolve to its very limits, and Joe finds his patience and his libido increasingly challenged as he fights his growing attraction for his new employee. But after Joe discovers the danger Ethan is in, his possessive instincts compel him to take on the role of Ethan’s personal bodyguard and pretend lover.

Can Joe protect Ethan from his increasingly violent stalker and maintain his own sanity while he gets up close and personal to the alluring young man storming his way inside his numb heart? Will Ethan overcome Joe’s stubbornness and convince the club owner to take a chance on love? Or will the secrets they’ve been keeping from each other threaten their fragile, burgeoning relationship?

Discover Ethan and Joe’s story in this second novella in the hot, contemporary romance series Nights by A.M. Salinger.

This is a MM romance with a HEA.

Joe owns a gay club but before being the club owner he was an escort. He has a rule, never mixed business with pleasure but his bartender, Ethan, has his own rules and didn’t seem to agree with Joe and that makes Joe’s life difficult. Ethan works at Joe’s club for eleven months now and from the first time he saw Joe, he wanted him! For a few months, Ethan has a stalker and that scared Ethan. When Joe found about it he had a solution and his solution is…

First of all, I wanted to say I really like that cover!! It’s really good! Second, I liked this one more than the first book and I’m glad I read this one. I loved Ethan’s character, he was really funny, so likable. It was a quick read but I think it was well-written! Told in dual POV, 3rd person. It’s the second installment in the "Nights" series with character crossover but it can be read as a standalone. Overall, it was an enjoyable novella and hope you like it as well!

ARC-BOOK REVIEW
Release Date-9/2/18

The Escort (Nights Series, #2) by A.M. Salinger, God I loved this, I loved the first instalment and adored this second and though this is of bite-size novella size what is packed between its pages in terms of emotion was nothing short of miraculous.
This is the story of Joe Cavendish owner of Saron, the most exclusive gay club in Tokyo and Ethan Skye the whiz kid hotshot head barman who is massively in love with his boss Joe.
Not that Joe will give him the time of day even though he is lusting after Ethan in return.
Joe doesn't believe in mixing business with pleasure and is deliberately keeping Ethan at arm's length, lieing to himself that Ethan doesn't mean anything to him.
Just another employee.
Until that is that Joe realises Ethan is keeping a massive secret from him he has a stalker.
One that is so obsessed he's targeting Ethan at work and home.
So Joe steps up to keep Ethan safe by playing boyfriend but it's not long before lines are blurred and libidos are raised like a hundred degrees.
Fanning myself here folks seriously.

 photo tenor_zpsnbk5ml1g.gif

So this was all sorts of hot hot hot.
I can't express how much I adored Joe and Ethan.
They practically set the page alight with there chemistry.
Talk about human combustion these two are the real deal.
I loved how protective and Alpha Joe was over Ethan and Ethan himself loved it, lapping up Joe's dominance and care.
In return, Ethan was a bundle of sweet boyish charm and snarky humour.
They were so perfect together, in terms of there love vibe, I was practically humming along with them both.
And as an added bonus we get a glimpse of Gabe and Cam again, so can't wait to reconnect with these boys again in "Tokyo Heat".
So this had a bit of everything Love, intensity, suspense and a dash of humour too.
A Fabulous series that I can't recommend enough.
I received an ARC of "The Escort" (Nights Series, #2) from the Author's of which I have reviewed voluntary.
All opinions expressed are entirely my own.

AM Salinger is definitely an author to look out for. I'm really liking the two m/m novella and I am hoping she will do a full length soon because these shortie doesn't really satisfy my palate.

The Escort is about two character that I met previously in Book 1, Joe's the club owner and the sassy bartender, Ethan. This one is slightly longer and I appreciate that I get to know more of Ethan's background and I'm surprised he was trying to get Joe all this while. Talk about dedication. This one had an interesting plot about Ethan's stalker as it give a great excuse for Joe to get all protective and wanting to act as Ethan's fake boyfriend. Honestly, I love reading about fake relationship. They are simply delectable.

The only complaint I had, which I was embarrassed to admit was that I felt when they finally got together after suffering through the prolonged sexual tension was the prolonged sex scenes. The sex was good, but it took up too much page and I rather read more about relationship development. And for them to come 3 times per night, that's just too much, even for smut reader like me.

Book 2 in the Nights series tells the story of the sexy bartender from book one and the club owner. Saron is the most exclusive gay club in Tokyo. We have already seen one couple find their match at this location in book one, now it’s time for the staff to mix business with pleasure.

Joe Cavendish is a former male escort. He made his money and bought his club. His business is a huge success and he knows he owes some thanks to Ethan Skye. He’s both beautiful and great with the customer. Little does Joe know, Ethan has a secret and a big crush on him. These two are perfect for each other. Unfortunately, Joe resists the temptation that’s set out before him. It takes a stalker to help Joe realise how much he wants to protect Ethan and a dirty play to make him finally give in.

The stalker theme is still a gay hate crime in this book, but it worked with the story. I liked this more than the first one and I’m noticing the pieces of the series fitting together (I’ve already read some of the later books already).

I received a free copy of this book as part of the blog tour for the last book. 4.5 stars out of 5. A sexy enjoyable read.

Flirty, sexy, and suspenseful.

The Escort is the second novella in the Nights series and once again Salinger has written a short but sweet book that’s full of heat, heart, and passion.

If you enjoyed the first book this is very much the same mixed bag of a story. Plenty I could have rolled my eyes at but enough good sex and almost-OTT fun to counteract it and be enjoyable.

I liked Ethan. His snark, his banter with Evie, and his dogged determination to make Joe his. Was it possibly stalking? Yeah. But this is fiction and a romance and sometimes you just have to take reality and say "f**k it, he's sweet and he means well."

Were there as many orgasms in this as in book 1? Probably. When Joe and Ethan finally get together the author pretty much ignores any need for recovery time and keeps both of her MC up all night, literally. (But after the first book you should really be expecting that.) It pains me to say but I did skim through a tiny bit of the sex.

One plus is that the author has included some actual Japanese characters, which even though they don't play a huge part in the story, is still welcome.

All in all this is a short and fun continuation of the series. And it's on KU. Perfect for when you don't want something too serious. Like book 1, if this was just a bit longer and not so rushed it could be a higher rating.

5 Stars!!!

We met Ethan and Joe in One Night, book 1 in this series, but The Escort can be read as a standalone, although tbh, One Night was hot, hot, HOT, you don't want to miss it!

Ethan has been in love with Joe since before he started working for him at Saron, Joe's bar, however, much to his chagrin, Joe refuses to mix pleasure with business. When a man starts stalking Ethan and getting increasingly close to the bartender, Joe's protective instincts urge him to help Ethan out by pretending to be his lover. Will this be the push Joe needs to realize he and Ethan belong together or will he keep pushing Ethan away?

Ethan was adorable and just perfect for Joe, and he turned out to be a whole lot more than a bartender, which was a nice surprise. Joe was protective and stubborn and I wanted to punch him a couple of times that he wouldn't just give in to the obvious attraction between him and Ethan and just talk with the man about his misgivings. *sighs* The chemistry between Ethan and Joe was out of this world and it's undeniable that Ms. Salinger knows how to write sex scenes that are sizzling hot. *fans self*

I loved seeing Cam and Gabe and can't wait to read more about them in book 3, and I really liked Eveline, she's such a fun character!

Overall, much as I enjoyed One Night, I think The Escort is my favorite in the series so far. Perhaps because it was more than just sex, it also had suspense and a bit of romance. Highly recommendable!

Ethan is employed at Saron, an exclusive gay club in Tokyo. Very wealthy because of his business and investing skills. He works as a bartender because he desperately wants his boss Joe and it's a way to stay close to him. Teasing and taunting him every chance he gets because Joe just won't give in. Ethan knows Joe used to be an escort and still is occasionally, which tears him apart. He wants Joe. Possibly being a bit of a stalker himself when it comes to his boss.

Joe has a line he won't cross with employees. He doesn't get involved with the help. No matter how tempting or luscious their ass looks bent over the bar. Never has happened and never will.

Until Joe finds out Ethan has a stalker. When Joe stakes a claim on Ethan at the club to make a point, all bets are off. The kiss they share is eye opening for both of them. As Ethan's stalker gets closer, so do the two men.

This book is very hot. It should have come with flame resistant gloves. Second book in the series. Can be read alone but there are appearances from the guys in the first book, so better to read it first.

I enjoyed this book. It was a quick sweet read with a little drama thrown in for suspense. The only thing that bothered me was the way Joe was treating Ethan after saving him. Fortunately, that didn’t last long.

Ethan and Joe

We met Ethan and Joe in book 1, but this is their story. Two characters with a bunch of secrets, a lot of angst and some truly scary scenes, but with help from an unlikely ally they finally get their steamy HEA

Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book.

This is book two in the Night Series, but you don't need to have read book one, One Night first. I recommend you DO though, cos that book is HOT!!!

This one is more a slow burner, heat wise, but both Ethan and Joe have lusted after the other for over a year. When Ethan reveals he has a stalker, Joe goes all ALPHA male on him, and finally admits to himself at least, how he really feels about Ethan.

From the moment Ethan saw Joe, he knew he would be his, he'd wait til Joe finally rid himself of his silly "no mixing work and pleasure" rule. Joe wants Ethan, more than anyone he ever met, he just needs to see past the fact that Ethan is staff.

Like I said, more of a slow burner, it takes time for the guys to FINALLY admit to themselves who they really want, but once they do, its on, baby!

I'm not one for early profession of love and forever, but, while the guys use those words to THEMSELVES, its not till the very end of the book, they admit their feeling to each other. It's right and proper for this book and these guys.

Cam and Gabe pop up here too, so that's Brownie points from me!

I liked that Ethan manages to keep his secret net worth from, not only Joe, but US too, til right at the end. WE don't get told that news though, at all! Loved that Ethan didn't keep his money, too.

Excellent follow up, keep them coming! Loving these!

**I received a copy of this book from Xpresso Book Tours in exchange for an honest voluntary review. All opinions are my own and not influenced by my source.**

This was a much more rounded story than the previous installment. While there is a bit of info-dumping at the start, once you get passed those first two chapters it has a great flow.

The plot is suspenseful in a way I wasn't anticipating. I loved the mystery of the stalker and that layer of danger it brought to the story. It truly tests the characters and lets them shine a littler more than your everyday "fake relationship" story. Compared to the previous installment, this one had a much stronger plotline.

These two also had fantastic chemistry. Every scene was laced with this palpable sexual tension between them. I was dying for them to kiss and finally admit their true feelings because they were a great fit for each other.

Overall, an entertaining and sweet romance novella.

Last week I reviewed the first book in the Night series - One Night, and had a few complaints about it. I have some of these issues with The Escort as well, but overall, this is a better-written book with a better story.

Love at first sight is present in both books, the characters occasionally contradict themselves (this was more prevalent in the first book) and the language used during the sex scenes had me rolling my eyes a few times. Another thing that was present in both books was the characters making out with their eyes open and still somehow managing to see all of the other person's face without pulling away; I didn't mention this in my review of One Night, but it had me scratching my head since it's not physically possible.

So yes, some of the things I didn't like about the first book are present in the second.

However (and as I've already mentioned), this book is better when it comes to writing style and it has much more of a plot than its predecessor. One Night was pretty much one giant sex scene with a little bit of something other than bedroom acrobatics happening, but not delved upon. Also, a character in each of the books goes through a similar traumatic event and I think that was dealt with better here.

In short, if you've read One Night and thought it was okay, but needed more going on, then check out The Escort.

Compared to the previous book in the series, “One Night”, this one had a much more evolved plot. It took place over a longer period of time and there was quite a bit more plot.

I was happy to get to know Joe and Ethan a little bit more and still get glimpses of Gabe and Cam. I’m not too sure about the plot though. It seemed incredibly far-fetched for Ethan to become a bartender for months just to be close to Joe, not to mention stalker-ish. Which makes it quite ironic that he acquires a stalker for himself. The fact that said stalker finally pushed Joe over the edge so to speak and moves their relationship a long was quite predictable.
I did enjoy seeing Joe fight against his feelings and then finally give in. I felt like there weren’t as many steamy scenes as in the first book but that was alright as there was more plot to make up for it.

As with the first book I rated this one 4 stars, simply because it was a quick, easy and incredibly fun read.

So it looks like this is a serial as each book has been and looks to be a novella in length. We actually got a deeper dive into the characters in this one than in the previous book. I suppose you could read this as a standalone but the characters from book 1 are in this one and will be in the next one. If you’re like me and want the complete story, I’d read them all in order.

I love Ethan! His snark and sweetness make for a complex and loveable character. He’s caught in the crosshairs of a stalker which is resolved quickly due to the length of the story. Joe is closed off and a bit broody. He made me mad a couple of times with the way he treated Ethan but came to his senses soon enough. Joe and Ethan have great sexual chemistry and their already established connection helps advance their relationship quickly.

Even though I typically won’t read serial type books, I’m sticking with this one as I like the characters and stories so far. I’m anxious to learn more about Cam so I can’t wait for book 3!

☆ 2.5/5 ☆

If you are looking for an in-depth, long romance/erotic novel, then this isn't it. If on the other hand, you are in the mood for a quick read with lots of hot scenes and passion then you're in the right place.
This is part of the nights series, in the first book we met Ethan and Joe, although they were just minor characters in that story. This time they actually get together.
I really liked Ethan, he is quite funny and I liked him in the previous story. Joe is a little bit too protective and strong man like for my liking, but I didn't dislike him.
The early part of the story deals with a stalker that Ethan has, once this has been dealt with, their relationship progresses and we get a full-on bedroom scene.
If you're looking for a bit of light escapism with lots of sex, then this is probably the series for you.

Joe and Ethan were waiting to happen . . .

The way Joe and Ethan finally came together was in the works for almost a year. It a shame that it had to happen this way. I would have liked it not to come down to danger and a life altering event. I would have loved for Joe to recognize that he was in love with Ethan before his life was in danger. Thought it was still a good story. Very much a page turner. I was a bit agitated each time I got interrupted while reading. Eveline was an interesting character and it was nice to catch up with Gabe and Cam. I see that they are still sexy as all get out and work out just fine.

A.M. Salinger has delivered two sexy MM romance that I could very much appreciate. I look forward to more from Cam and Gabe in Tokoy Heat.

I think I am becoming obsessed with these novellas. They are quick and dirty and I love every second of them.

Ethan and Joe had a sexual tension that built to a high level before exploding. I admit that I had a crush on Joe. He has a sense of humor but also a sensitivity that made me “aww” more than once. I wanted these two to be together. There wasn’t a doubt in my mind. I also think the added stalker storyline only bonded the couple more, although I do wish that it hadn’t been so rushed.

This novella is perfect if you enjoy a steamy m/m romance with a bit of suspense. A perfect little weekend read.

Joe and Ethan

I have to be fair and give this book five stars. True passion knows no boundaries! The author creates a bond and natural passion between the two and by the end I wanted the two to realize their potential love for each other. I am an avid reader of all genres of romance and I believe that passion knows no limits. True love is blind to color, race, and gender. The book was realistic and I really could see this happening in real life. The characters felt real to me.

This is an underrated little gem. There are so many m/m books out there in this price range, but it's hit or miss on the writing and quality. This is one of the good ones! The blurb does a good job of laying out what you're getting in terms of romance (pining, pretend lovers, protectiveness, boss-employee relationship) and suspense (a stalker). If it sounds interesting to you, it's definitely worth the price. Read it!

I love Ethan! Joe Cavendish owns a gay club in Tokyo and Ethan is his bartender who has been trying to get with Joe for a year, but Joe doesn't mix business with pleasure and keeps Ethan at arms length, until Ethan needs his protection from a dangerous stalker only then does he accept that he has feelings for him as well. I liked this continuation of the series. It was also nice to catch up with Gabe and Cam as they make appearances within the story.

Quick read, I loved Ethan and his mouth! He was great in book one but his snarkiness was even better in this book. I loved how he talked to Evie.
Good story but a little predictable with the outcome between Joe and Ethan didn't hurt the storyline for me though.

I enjoyed this book, although the underlying 'stalker' story was a tadge rushed and maybe overcooked in the end. However there is plenty going for this book, none more so than our two heroes with plenty of snark, sex and humour.
Will be reading the next in the series.

4.5 stars!
This novella has been on my TBR list for a while- I wish I had read it sooner, because it was so good! Though short, the story is well written, well paced, fun and hot. I read this as a standalone, but will look for the rest of the series.
