One night was all I asked for. For him to show me how good it can be — Gabe
One night was all I promised. To give him the best time of his life — Cam

Gabe Anderson wants nothing more than to overcome the scars of his past. Moving to a new city halfway across the world is one thing. Walking into the most exclusive gay bar in town to hook up with a perfect stranger is a whole new ball game.

Cam Sorvino doesn't do relationships. Period. Having buried his dark childhood behind him, he lives life to the fullest and likes his sex hot, dirty, and for one night only. Though Cam's instincts tell him that Gabe isn't the one-night kind of guy, he can't stop himself from approaching him. When Cam discovers the true extent of Gabe's harrowing secrets, he makes him an offer he cannot refuse: one night of mindless pleasure to help him overcome his phobia of intimacy.

But when morning comes, will Cam be able to let go of the one man who is able to stir new feelings inside his cold, dead heart?

If you like sweet, sexy men with dark pasts and a whole lot of love to give to the ones brave enough to win their hearts, then you'll love this first novella in the hot, contemporary romance series Nights by A.M. Salinger.

It was a good one for a quick read and I enjoyed it! I liked both characters. My only disappointment was the story was based on only one night and it ended so abruptly! I wanted more of them! Maybe one night was enough for them but not for me, it wasn’t! Told in dual POV, 3rd person. It’s the first installment in the "Nights" series and it can be read as a stand-alone. I’m looking forward to reading the second book. Overall, I enjoyed it and hope you like it as well!

So I have a confession to make, this is so not my normal genre, in fact, I am so far out of my comfort zone it's ridiculous, but after reading the synopsis of One Night (Night Series, #1) I was intrigued enough to want to give this a go.
My total experience with M/M romances was one of Jr Wards books in her Black Dagger series a couple years ago which I did enjoy at the time but was really just a one-off as it was part of a series and had to be read really.
So One Night (Night Series, #1) by A.M. Salinger what did I think, well in a word WOWZER!!!. I LOVED THIS SO MUCH!!!
"One Night" is a short novella that certainly packed a punch.
It starts the story of Gabe Anderson and Cam Sorvino.
Set in Tokyo, Gabe has moved here to escape his dark past, he is haunted by demons that have crippled him dramatically when it comes to enjoying a healthy satisfying, relationship.
Cam also has past issues that have made him commitment-phobic when it comes to his hook-ups, preferring random encounters, he doesn't usually do more than one night.
When Gabe ends up in the most exclusive gay bar in the city, determined to overcome his demons and after years of therapy, Bi-sexual Cam instantly sets him in his cross-sights, determined to have the gorgeous stranger for the evening at any cost, Cam is not likely to let Gabe escape him that easily.
So this story, just wow its all sorts of hot, as well as also being extremely emotive.
The author has really managed to strike just the right balance between erotic and emotional.
These two men just seemed to compliment each other so well, Cam's confidence is exactly what Gabe needs to help him overcome his tragic past.
And I must admit I have developed quite the soft spot for the pair of them, especially Gabe his shyness and hesitancy just melted my heartstrings.
So after reading "One Night" I'm definitely hooked for the whole series and can't wait to read more especially as Gabe and Cam get there HEA in book three.
In this novella, they get there HFN which I am more than pleased with for the moment.
I'm also really looking forward to learning more about Ethan and Joe in book two, that snippet at the end of this ARC really set the scene so enticingly, I'm definitely invested now.
So yeh, I think its safe to say this was a definite winner for me and I have no problem recommending this, in fact, I'd go as far as to say this is up there with some of my favourite book couples.
I was provided with an ARC of One Night (Night Series, #1) by A.M. Salinger of which I have reviewed voluntary.
All opinions expressed are entirely my own.
"One Night" is also available on KU.

One night is the first book in the nights series. These are a collection of short stories. One night is Cam and Gabe’s story. This is an exotic Male/Male romance about a one night stand which turns into more.

Gabe’s ex-boyfriend is a piece of work. He screwed Gabe up and he hasn’t managed to get over it. Cam likes the easy love, but he can’t resist Gabe. When he finds out his past Cam is determined to give him the experience he needs to show not all men are A**holes.

This is a Tokyo club story with a bonus sexy bartender.

The guy's story continues in book 3 Tokyo Heat which is another short story.

I received a free copy of One night as part of the blog tour for the last book in the series One Day. The last book is the last in the series and is about all the characters. Therefore the other books need to be read first.

I really liked this story, however, there is a theme of a previous abusive relationship including an almost rape.

3 stars out 5.

Seductive and erotic!

This novella is well written and does a good job of developing the characters and bringing the passion and heat for such a quick read. It was hot, hot, hot and I look forward to reading the next novel in the series, The Escort!

The title is fitting; this is literally about one night, and the morning after. It was a bit cliché, but I wanted that now, so that wasn’t the problem.

Dudes have stamina. I counted 8 orgasms for Gabe and maybe 3 for Cam in two hours, and they didn’t stop after that, but we didn’t see more. But okay, I believe it.

Usually I don’t have a problem reading about rape, and this wasn’t even a detailed scene, it was only 2-3 paragraphs, but it was in the wrong place. I was enjoying myself; they just had an orgasm and were gearing up for another round, when Gabe told Cam why he didn’t want to be penetrated. I was all hot and bothered, but my mood plummeted after that. Then they were sexing it up again, but I couldn’t get into it. I get that Gabe’s past had to come out sometime, but was it necessary to reveal this in the middle of sex?! Ugh!

There was instalust, and it was fine up until the point when Cam came up with the I-knew-the-first-time-I-laid-eyes-on-him-that-it-could-be-more bullshit. Cue eye-roll.

Initially I was more interested in the other potential couple, but after this I’m not sure I want to read that.

For an erotic romance, this was good. This is a short novella, but the author manage to cram quite a package in it. I like the fact that we get some background on both the MCs, despite giving it in a short and rush manner. In fact, the entire story which took place on 'one night' is short and rush. Despite the short page, I'm very enamored by Cam and Gabe. I can feel Gabe's vulnerability and Cam's confidence through the pages. The HFN doesn't really make sense because is just 'one night' after all, but I'm a happy camper.

One spicy novella reminiscent of Ella Frank’s Try, high steam, straightforward characters with smoldering sex appeal and depth. Loved it! Lining up this series on my Kindle, I kinda borrowed everything on KU😁 (except the mf ones, skipping those since I only read mm).

These two men's story had so much more potential than the short amount of pages it was given, but I still enjoyed this.

Did I think it was possible to have a dozen or so amazing orgasms, and still ejaculate semen, in the space of one night? No.
Did I think that the discussion about Gabe's painful past was awkward and came at the wrong time? Yes.
Did I think the ending was both amazingly refreshing as well as being way too fast to be believable? Absolutely.
Was I disappointed that there was not one Japanese character in this, apart from the cab driver? Definitely.

But I liked these two men, and it says a lot about an author when you can get over certain peeves you normally have and just enjoy these characters being together. Can't wait till book 3 when their story continues.

*I'm hoping that as the series continues the author makes more use of this being set in Tokyo. I would have happily rated this 4 stars if there had been some diversity with the characters. But as it stands it seems like a lost opportunity. *

HEAT LEVEL 8/10: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Cam is my kinda guy. Dominant, strong, stubborn. But surprisingly enough, he also has a caring side for a man, Gabe, that he's just met. I am not too fond of "short" sexual encounters that turn into a romance. But taking that aside, I can also say: hats off, Ms. A.M. Salinger. You had me on the edge of my seat for the entire smut-session. Thank you very much.

And I am only here to judge heat level, and this book has definitely that: steaming HEAT! I promise you that much. And an interesting twist that I quite enjoyed. But I am not gonna say much more. If you're looking for versatile and well-written m/m erotica that makes you squirm, this is your next book.

Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book.

Book title is One Night and the whole book takes place in just that: one night!

After an attack 8 years ago, Gabe hasn't been able to be intimate with anyone. Moving across the world gives him a chance to push himself and at least try. He never expected that Cam would become anything other than one night.

OOOOOEEEEE!!!! New shelf, folks, just for this book! Cos let me tell ya, these boys get up to inferno level heat in that one night!

Cam and Gabe have a powerful and instant reaction, even with a whole club between them, and it carries, right through these some hundred pages, with both of them, independently of each other, deciding that one night will never be enough, but Gabe runs still. His trauma is dark, and could well have ended his life but for a nosey neighbour. Cam's reaction to that trauma is, again, powerful: his need to protect Gabe, to keep HIS man safe skyrockets and Cam realises that he will never get enough of Gabe.

Short it is, but there is enough history of the two men to gab you and pull you in. There is SO MUCH action, let me tell ya, these boys burn high, and hot and LONG!!!

I wrote in a recent review that what I loved about THAT book, was that it was so very CLEAN. But what I LOVED about this book?? It is so very NOT clean!! I actually don't think I've read such a great story, with so much action, in a long time!

Temperature outside? -2 degrees Centigrade (29 F) but inside?? About 500C ( 932F)!!!

Seriously cannot wait for Cam and Gabe's next book. It's not finished, their story, but they get their HFN here.

5 scorching stars!

**I received a copy of this book from Xpresso Book Tours in exchange for an honest voluntary review. All opinions are my own and not influenced by my source.**

I have a soft spot in my heart for stories where love and acceptance can heal. So I was very excited to watch Gabe and Cam find each other in One Night.

This book was more erotica focused than I anticipated but that is A-OK! These two have great sexual chemistry and tension so their scenes together are well done. The heat sizzles off the pages but you also have these really sweet moments as well. It's everything you like in a sexy romance.

Despite the shorter page length, these characters are very well developed individually. They have complex backstories and that's all brought to your attention within the first chapters. Unfortunately, the romantic development is a little lacking as a result of this. These two share some intense, unspoken chemistry but I would have liked to seen that expanded upon a little more. The great thing is that they will be getting another installment so hopefully we can see this great initial connection become something more.

This is perfect for readers who want to dip their toes into the fantastic world of MM romance!

Gabe lives in Tokyo. He decides to check out a nightclub to just relax and have a few drinks. He is talking to the bartender when he catches sight of a gorgeous man.

Cam isn't interested in any kind of relationship, man or woman. One night stands are all he does. He sees Gabe and he wants him immediately.

They are drawn to each other and agree, one night, just sex, nothing else.

This is a hot, short story. It's serves as an introduction to Gabe and Cam. Their story will continue in the third book of the series. I enjoyed it.

☆ 3.5/5 ☆

Short and sweet novella about a young man's second try at intimacy, after his first try resulted in PTSD. Basically one night of hot sex in Tokyo, and a HFN. If you want to be warned about poor Gabe's backstory

I liked both Gabe and Cam, and it's neat that all this takes place in Tokyo (although the setting isn't used as much as I'd wished). That said, as a story book #2 is far superior: more UST, fake relationships, a stalker, and both Joe and Ethan are more better characters with more interesting histories and motivations. So if you're not sure if this author can do more than smut, she can! I also just loved a contemporary romance novel of hers: Carter

This is the first in the Night Series, which are a series of hot novellas set in Japan. In this one we meet Gabe and Cam. Looking at the other stories in the series, they are the 'main' characters, recurring both in other couples stories and having at least one more novella about them.
Gabe has been scared away from physical relationships after a terrible experience with the first man that he loved, being left hurt and betrayed. He has moved to Tokyo for a new start and hopes to get past his reluctance to be with someone. Cam doesn't do relationships, just one night stands, which is what he offers Gabe.
This book is just about that one night, as the title suggests. Clearly, there is more to come for this couple, but not in this book. This was a very quick, hot read. If it's the kind of thing that you are in the mood for, then this is a well written and entertaining read. I'm looking forward to seeing what comes next for both this pair and Ethan and Joe, who we meet in this book and get their story in the next.

Short but Good

I’ll be honest I give five stars to nearly everything. Mainly because this is the world we live in. We’re judged, rated, liked, hearted, retweeted, followed or thrown a bunch of surveys that can make or break people’s livelihoods if we don’t simply think good or not good. This book fell into the good pile. I don’t usually get anything under 200 pages. It’s rare. Yet, this book I found on Twitter and decided ‘I’m not ready for sleep and want to read so why not?’ Downloaded it and read it in idk an hour or so? My favorite parts were not the erotica it was the characters background stories and how it made them into who they found themselves being in the present. The location too was pretty neat. (Sorry not giving anything away) The awesome news is this is a series. If you combine them all you get a nice read. If you’re looking for something steamy this is for you. Thanks for sharing your writings.

Cam and Gabe gave sensually erotic a new flavor...

This one night promised held more than just steaming passion in store for these two sexy , hot men. Neither man was trully looking for a one nighter. Neither was expecing the explosive chemistry between them with just the first eye contact. Neither knew one trip to the restroom would brings about a major explosion and lead to a night neither would forget. Neither expected the boom that was dropped just before deeper penetration took place. Gage was not expecting to say moe and Cam was not prepared for the words. I must say that I loved watching their first meeting, their first intimant encounter, a secret shared, passion unleashed. Cam and Gage were explosive together. I look forward to their story.

I have to admit this was not only the first Novella I’ve read, but also my first erotic romance, as I only started reading romance a short while ago.
The first thing that comes to mind when thinking of the story is “PWP, Slash”, which just goes to show that while I’ve never read erotic romance I’m well versed when it comes to Fanfiction.

But let’s talk about the story.
Obviously there wasn’t a lot of plot. It took place within one night and it was mainly about Cam getting Gabe into bed. While I would usually consider this a strike against a book it was pretty much what I expected from this novella.

I liked both Cam and Gabe and the chemistry between them. The sex scenes were pretty steamy and well written. It was kinda wired that after just one night Cam immediately let’s go of his aversion to relationships and decides he wants Gabe as more than just a one-night stand. Equally I find it hard to believe that within just one night Gabe is able to let go of all his trauma, trust a random stranger and decides to be a devoted boyfriend.

That’s not to say I have a problem with their relationship, in fact I loved it and continued reading the next book in the series right after.
I struggled a bit with the rating because I felt I enjoyed it enough to warrant 4 stars, but I also don’t think that this book is on par with the other books I usually rate 4 stars when it comes to plot, character or worldbuilding and writing, which are the things I usually consider in my rating. I did go with 4 stars though because in the end I just loved the book.

This novella left me wanting more. Cam and Gabe were electrifying together. I felt it the moment they met. The book’s premise had me wondering how these two were going to fall for one another in one night. I didn’t want it to be cheesy. What I got was intense, hot, scenes and a backstory for Gabe that broke my heart and made me want him to get his happy ending with the man of his fantasies and dreams.

I can’t wait to read the next one in this little series. If this one is any indication of how these couples get together, I will never want it to end.

Short and Sweet

This was my first book by this author. It was a short book but well written. I will definitely try reading something else by this author. The characters were great. I would have liked a little more background on Cam and it would have been nice to see the two characters do other things besides sex but it was a short book and there wasn't time. The ending was good. It's worth the read If you are looking for something short and sweet.

Erotic romance set in Tokyo but all the main characters are white. At least I think they are - Cam Sorvino, Gabe Anderson, Ethan Skye, Joe Cavendish.
Can't figure out why this is set in Tokyo. Granted the story is only 91 pages but the city seems more like a wallpaper setting.
I'm not interested enough in reading more to see if there is a reason.

Wow

Short stories often feel like there's no real character development as there simply isn't enough time. This story had great characters, good plot, a healthy dose oz angst and was oh so steamy
