Tom Sutherland is an arrogant prick. There, I said it. Okay, so he’s also my assistant and I couldn’t survive without him, but that doesn’t make him less of an irritating bastard — Lana

Lana Keele is a witch. A beautiful, frustrating witch placed on this earth to torment me. Yeah, she’s my boss, but she’s still the most maddening creature I’ve ever had the misfortune to cross paths with — Tom

When Lana Keele, president of Keele Industries and only surviving heir to business tycoon Oliver Keele, wakes up in her devil-of-an-assistant’s bed after a drunken night out, she fears the worst. That is, until prissy Mr. Perfect Tom Sutherland declares that she’s the last woman he’d ever want to sleep with.

After surviving four years in the company of the infuriating woman he’d lusted after since his teens, Tom has had just about enough of the unholy siren that is Lana, especially when she turns up inebriated on his doorstep one night and demands sex. Convinced that Lana will never return his affections, Tom decides that it’s high time to get over his unrequited love.

Except Lana doesn’t quite seem to agree with this plan. Not after she sees him with another woman. Not after she confronts him about it. And most definitely not after he succumbs to temptation and kisses her.

As they finally ignite the fire that has burned so long between them, Tom cannot help but be certain that for Lana, this is just about sex. Will he be satisfied with only having the body of the woman he loves and not possess her heart? Or will Lana convince Tom that she truly means to give him her everything?

Discover Lana and Tom’s story in this sexy and stormy addition to the hot, contemporary romance series Nights by A.M. Salinger. Note from the author: although each book in Nights can be read as a standalone, you will enjoy this series even more if you read the books in order!

This is a novella length MF romance with a HEA.

Holy smokes Hush is sizzling hot. I was not expecting Tom Sutherland to be the perfect wet dream.

Lana has never noticed how sexy her assistant is until she wakes up half-naked in his bed. Don't worry nothing happened, but now she can't stop thinking about him. Tom is a pain in Lana's butt but he's the perfect assistant. He may argue with her on every decision but he gets the job done well.

Tom has been in love with Lana since he meets her but she's never looked at him like that. To protect his heart he must not panda to her every need but when this romance heats up he can't resist taking a slice of what he's always wanted.

Hush is an x-rated story intended for an adult audience. Hush is told from Lana and Tom's point of view. It's a fairly short story which I don't usually like but this one ticks all the boxes. (This book is only about 112 pages). It's a sexy standalone bedtime read with a happily ever after.

5 burning hot stars out of 5. ☄️

*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.

If you are in the mood for a hot contemporary romance then look no further then this. I admit that this is the first book by this author that I have read but as advertised it works as a stand alone even without reading books 1-7 in the series. Lana is a powerful woman in her own right and Tom is her assistant that has been in love with her for years without her knowing. Like all things this dynamic comes to an explosive end as they each do things outside the norm which leads us to the fireworks and more making it impossible for me to put it down. If you like the genre I bet you will enjoy this one. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.

Definitely short, sweet and steamy, Hush is the 8th book in the Nights Series, I hadn’t read any of the other books before this one and I don’t think that affected my enjoyment. There are some characters that I believe are from previous books but you don’t need to know that much about them, if anything reading this one has me interested to go back and have a look at who features in which books.

This book has got everything you need for the perfect erotic romance, Tom who has been in love with Lana for years even though she’s never realised; Lana who only notices Tom as he’s about to walk away; and some sizzling chemistry. It makes for some dramatic and explosive scenes.

You can easily read this book in one sitting, perfect for if you are looking for something quick and entertaining after a heavy read. There maybe could have been a little fleshing out here and there out with the sex scenes but overall I enjoyed Hush and will keep an eye out for any other books in the series.

Finally Found What She Was Looking For

Lana has been drinking and sleeping her way through the last few books in this series in a desperate attempt to find something. Tom has been watching and rescuing her from herself whilst quietly despairing that she will ever notice him. When they finally get together, their chemistry is explosive. So glad Lana finally found her happily ever after

Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book.

So! This is book 8 in the Nights Series, but this one really can be read as a stand alone. I'm not sure I recall Lana or Tom from any of the previous books, but that might be me. Also, books one through 6 are male/male pairings and book7 and this one are male/female pairings. Again, I'm not picky, especially when the author pulls off the difference incredibly well, but I know some readers are. Books one through 3, and 6 and 7 are all 5 stars reads from me too.

Lana has been the bane of Tom's existence since he fell in love with her at 16. Having worked for her for 4 years, Tom really has reached the end of his tether, and feels he needs to move on. But when Lana turns up at his door, drunk, demanding sex, what's a guy to do, huh?? He does the right thing, and puts her to bed, while sleeping on the sofa. But, things change between Lana and Tom, and Lana begins to feel things more keenly. These feelings she never realised she had. And the feelings that she wants more than the verbal battling they have every day. But Tom runs, and Lana has to face some facts.

A thoroughly enjoyable addition to this series, even if i found it not quite up to par as the rest.

Oh, don't get me wrong! It's a great book, told from both Lana and Tom's point of view. It's sexy and hot, and I did read it in one sitting.

It just doesn't have the heat level the other books have, and I think I missed that! Ya'll know I made a new shelf for these books, "fan yourself, it's a hot one" and this book doesn't get to join the others there, simply because of that fact.

There is, though, more emotions in this one, I think. Having loved Lana for the better part of his life, Tom's feeling are front and centre, right from the beginning, but Lana's take some digging out. I LOVED the scene when she's talking to Eveline and Lincoln from book 7, about just WHY Lana is annoyed with Tom!

I really have enjoyed this series, and there is just one book to go, and I will be so bloody sad to see the end of these books!

I also find myself curious as to what name this author usually writes under, as AM Salinger is a pen name. I'd LOVE to read something written under that name, just to see the differences. But then again, it might be young adult, or zombies and they really don't float my boat. So, on reflection, no, I don't want to know!

4 solid sexy (but not quite as sexy as the rest) stars

*I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own!*

It's been a while since I've read a Romance novel and I have to say that, I particularly enjoyed this one! I'd been wanting to read one of A.M. Salinger's books for a while so, when the opportunity arose, I obviously could not resist. And I was definitely not disappointed. It was steamy, quick and everything I was in the mood for when I decided to start reading it! It's definitely for a more mature audience so, you might want to be aware of that before picking it up!

Going too much into the story would probably spoil you in terms of its premise so, I'm just going to say that it's told from both Tom and Lana's perspectives, which I personally find immensely enjoyable in Romance novels. Since it is a novella, its pace was fast but not rushed, which isn't usually easy to achieve! The beginning is actually quite fascinating and probably my favorite part of the novel, while the ending lacked a bit in terms of creativity, should I say? It was definitely satisfying but, kind of predictable, which is the only thing that could've been altered a bit to make this perfect! I loved the back and forth between the characters though and couldn't get enough of their banter! The chemistry between them was crazy and the writing style definitely complimented it!

The plot kind of took a backseat to the relationship between the characters and their erotic journey, I would say, something I was definitely aware of before choosing to read Hush so, I thought I'd point that out. There's a general plot, if that makes any sense but, it's all about Tom and Lana's relationship and how it progressed throughout the novel! This is part of a series I haven't read and but, it didn't leave any gaps or confuse me as to what was going on! It was quite enjoyable and I am definitely thinking about picking up the rest of the books in the series!

Overall, this was such an enjoyable Romance that I would definitely recommend to those of you looking for something light and drama free to get your mind off of things and kind of, unwind! It was such a quick read and entertaining read, perfect for those moments in - between ''heavier'' Genres!

Hush is the first book that I've read by this author and since I'm always looking to discover new romance authors I jumped at the chance to review it. The synopsis struck me as an enemies to lovers style trope (which I love) and I read the book in just a couple of hours.

It's also the first novella I've read in quite a while and I found myself flying through it.

As it's a novella, the story kicks off straight away with Lana waking up in her assistant's bed with a blazing hangover and no idea what happened the night before.

Tom and Lana's relationship quickly heats up, with the tension between them building rapidly. The chemistry between the two characters sizzles off the page and the love scenes are SUPER descriptive, if a little cringe-worthy at times, but that's just my opinion.

Some of the characters in this book are clearly from the other books in the series but I never really felt as though there was something I'd missed because the author gives a quick overview to introduce each character.

Although this book is categorised as a contemporary romance on Goodreads, I'd personally class it as erotic romance as it seems that the sex is at the forefront of the novella with the plot taking a bit of a backseat.

I did like that the secondary characters in the book were diverse in terms of their sexuality but I was massively confused by the fact that this book is supposed to be set in Shanghai but I think every single character is white. It would have been nice to have some cultural representation going on here, otherwise why choose Shanghai as a setting at all? Unless I'm missing something here....

The writing style was fun and fast-paced and after looking at the synopsis and reviews of some of the other books in this series, I'm definitely interested in finding out what more A.M. Salinger has to offer.

Overall, this was a fast paced, hot read with a simple, fairly drama-free plot and a guaranteed HEA.

I loved it! Quick, to the point and with a lot of frustrations out in the open – that’s how I would describe this short story. Well, except great.

This is one of those rare cases when the woman is the boss and the man is the assistant. Really, she is his boss, the one who never paid attention to him (either because she has no time to fool around at the office or because she is as he describes her – a maddening witch). I would have expected to be proud to have the female character in charge for once but it felt weird a little (sorry girls, just keeping it true here!). One (un)fortunate incident brings Tom to Lana’s attention as more than her assistant. But Tom has to keep his heart away from her. He has been lusting over Lana for so long and he knows all is needed is a small sign of attention for his heart to be spoken for.

For such a short novella, the action is quite well distributed throughout the pages and there are enough details for us to know both characters and understand them. We have both their POVs, we have heated moments and frustrations from both sides. Fun and passion – perfect combo!

I loved the writing so much and I am sorry this was not a full length story, just to enjoy it a little more. A. M. Salinger is amazing, I have read one more book from this series and I enjoyed that one as well and definitely there will not be my last. 5 stars and hearts!

Original review

This book was provided by the author through Xpresso Book Tours in exchange for an honest review. Thank you A.M. Salinger and Xpresso Book Tours!

Hush
tells the story of Lana and Tom. Lana is president of Keele Industries and Tom is her assistant. What Lana doesn’t know is that Tom has been in love with her for such a long time and when she shows up drunk one night demanding for sex, he has to do everything to stop her because he doesn’t want to break his own heart…

Hush was such a quick and steamy read and I really liked it. Hush is the perfect book to read between heavy fantasy or sci-fi books because it’s really short and an easy story to enjoy. Or it’s just perfect when you don’t always have time to read big books and want something short and sexy.

Although Hush is book 8 in the Night Series, you can read all the books in the series as a standalone. However, the author does recommend reading them in order because some characters will show up in the series and then you’ll know their story.

I cannot wait to read all the other books in the Night Series because Hush was such an enjoyable and sexy read!

Hush is book 8 in the Nights series and while there are some recurring characters, it can technically be read as a standalone, but I suggest reading the previous books because we get some glimpses of Tom and Lana in them.

I loved Tom, my heart broke for him when I realized he'd basically been in love with Lana for half his life and I was glad that he had the strength to walk away when he didn't get what he really wanted of her. I liked Lana, even if she was so oblivious, not only to Tom's feelings but her own. I mean, she literally had to have it pointed out to her and I just wanted to strangle her for not seeing what had been in front of her for so long. *sighs* The chemistry between Tom and Lana was explosive and as always, Ms. Salinger gives us some of the yummiest, hottest sex scenes I've read.

Overall, this was a great short story. Frankly, the only reason I didn't rate it higher was that I wanted Tom to make Lana grovel a bit more, LOL, but other than that, this was a really good, very hot read!

I received a free copy of the book from the author.

This is the first book by A.M. Salinger I've read and of course it's the eighth in the series!  HA! Go me.  True to the blurb statement Hush can be read by itself.  I didn't have any trouble jumping right into Tom and Lana's story.  The characters didn't feel out of place to me and was easy to read. This book is less than 100 pages so it was a quick read too.

Though it was quick the story of Lana and Tom was a charming office romance that would steam up any skyscraper's set of windows.  They've known each other for years.  Years!  Lana has no clue that Tom has lusted after her for as many as they've known each other.  Though during this book he finally has had enough.

Can't say that I blame him though, but sometimes you just have to take the bull by its horns. Of course Lana didn't purposefully start out to ask her assistant (Tom) to bang her. But the morning after mortification of his refusal is the eye opener Tom needs.

I'm sure you will enjoy this quick love story. Sassy with a side of sexy.

I'm nearly at the end of this series of hot novellas now. Unlike most of the other books in the series, this is about a male/female romance. Book 7 is also M/F, but as I read that first and quite a while ago I've gone straight from the M/M books to this one. On the whole, it follows most of the same themes as the previous books with two very successful people getting together and having lots of sex. There are actually fewer sex scenes in this story than in some of the previous books, but as there were lots and lots in those, don't think for a minute that that means that there aren't many in this book.
I quite liked both Lana and Tom. Their storyline was good, although very short and there wasn't a great deal of depth to it. This is a very quick read and if you're in the mood for something fun and short, then the books in this series are ideal.
Just one more book still to go, which, as I understand it, is a conclusion to all of the previous stories. I'll no doubt be reading it soon.

I found another hit to add to this fascinating series. Tom and Lana have that chance at more. Their taking that chance showed that this was more than just a quick romp among co-workers (boss/subordinate). Tom and Lana have sizzling hot chemistry, but there was one problem. There was a bit of contention between the two. That was until one night and the next morning when she woke naked in the man's bed. This was absolutely a steamy lunchtime read that will send you back with a bright smile and flushed skin.

This review will, like the book, be short and to the point.

Hot, spicy, steamy.  This book is all of those things, and is bound together by colourful characters and a half decent plot.

Don't expect a big build up.  You are thrust straight into the action and the pace never lets up.

This won't be the last that I read from this author!

Hush is a quick, steamy & satisfying read.

Putting an intriguing twist on the popular office romance trope, Lana & Tom reverse roles as boss & PA, providing heat & humor. I really enjoyed it, as I had just finished a long book, and was looking to unwind with a book that was enjoyable.

I recommend it for its lightness, plot & steam.

I voluntarily read & reviewed an ARC of this book.

Hush is a fast paced sexy as sin novella. I know this is part of a series but I read it as a stand-alone and I didn’t feel like I missed anything. I enjoyed watching both Lana and Tom surrender after all the years to each other. It does move fast but doesn’t take away from the characters development or the story. I’ll be going back and reading the others.

Another winner

I love this series!! The books are well written, fast passed, plots are awesome and just plain good reading. I'm a long time fan of M/M books so I was a concerned about this book and the last one being M/F. I have to say this author nailed it perfectly. Waiting patiently for the next book.
